Joomla! has released the latest version of their Open Source Software. In a nutshell, the release contains fixes for 1 critical and 2 moderate vulnerabilities.

This post is more a call for help than your usual Web Development tip and commentary on the Ubuntu Linux distro. My team and I are currently being swamped with work here and may need some help very soon.
So in this post I am asking developers of some skill to contact me as I may need to call upon you soon. I will try to get back to you, but no promises, I am already getting a lot of emails from other channels and have selected a few to slowly build my roster, but I may need some more down the track.

If you are a Joomla user or developer, then you would have come accross the requirement of linking to articles and/or menu items from the WYSIWYG editor.
The current way is tedious. You’d either have to try and guess the URL and have some sort of workaround so that you can remember how to format links. This requirement has always stumped us in the past, but after some R&D prior to coding up my own solution, I found out about the Linkr extension for Joomla 1.5!

While browsing for a solution for Firefox’s slow connection “bug”, I found a more “global” solution in Ubuntu. In short, the global solution is to blacklist IPV6.
You can do this simply by adding the following to /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist:
blacklist ipv6
