PHP Developers, Freelancers or Companies - I need you!
This post is more a call for help than your usual Web Development tip and commentary on the Ubuntu Linux distro. My team and I are currently being swamped with work here and may need some help very soon.
So in this post I am asking developers of some skill to contact me as I may need to call upon you soon. I will try to get back to you, but no promises, I am already getting a lot of emails from other channels and have selected a few to slowly build my roster, but I may need some more down the track.
Basic Skillset required:
- Solid PHP 5 Knowledge.
- Experience with the Apache Web Server.
- Respect and familiarty with Database Normalisation.
- Object Oriented Programming familiarity is essential.
- You must have used at least one of the OOP frameworks out there (or created one).
Essential traits:
- You are a freelancer or you have a business looking to take on other people’s overflow.
- You are professional in dealing with clients and gather requirements in an effective manner.
- You can finish a project without being harassed and deliver tasks early if not on time.
- You know not to put SQL queries in View Objects.
- You have a solid understanding of MVC - doesn’t matter what version as long as you get the principle and have actually worked with an MVC framework before.
- You know how to read CSS shorthand comfortably.
- You know to test features you develop on all browsers.
- You know to test features from start to finish from a users standpoint rather than having an “it works as coded” mentality.
- You have enough wisdom to know that you actually _need_ to use an IDE to be a professional developer. If you are still using VIM, Notepad++ or some other text editor to work on projects, we can’t use you.
